I truly recommend this locksmith business. Arrived when scheduled; offered great advice; replaced several locks, re-keyed the entire house; and installed a keysafe, which the family love. Courteous, professional. 6 star!

What’s the Difference between Keyed Alike
and Master Keying?

Can I key all my locks alike?

This a common request from our customers who would rather carry around just one key
rather than a jingly mass or weight in their pockets or purses.

Generally speaking, if your key can fit into another lock ( it doesn’t need to open the lock,
just be able to slide in it) then we can key it alike to existing locks. If however, it doesn’t
slide into the lock, then the barrel or lock can be replaced with one that is compatible.
Here at Malvern Lock Service, we carry lots of stock in our mobile locksmith vans and can
provide quality locks at affordable prices that will make your home or business secure.

What is the difference between keying locks alike and a master key?

Similar to keyed alike locks, the master key system uses singular keys to open more than
one lock. Unlike keyed alike locks, having a master key system in your home (or workplace)
can mean restricted access to certain areas.

As a good example, you have a master key that opens your front doors, your back doors,
your garage doors, your crystal cabinets, and your study. You have a cleaner or tradies
working at your property and you are happy to give them a key that opens them all except
your study area and crystal cabinet, you can give them a key that opens some of those
locks but not others, your master key opens them all.

This is especially useful in commercial environments where staff need access to multiple
areas but not others. We can work out what will and won’t work for you quickly and supply
you with a quote for you to consider.
